Just Words About What I’m Feeling Right Now

This was written the evening before the Trooper Ben #HelpMore Foundation was officially established in Salina, Kansas, on June 30, 2026.
Update: The foundation is now official and active through the Greater Salina Community Foundation.

Words about what I'm feeling right now.
That feels emotional to even type.
Mary will be there with me.
Parker and Jersey will be there too.
I wouldn't be surprised if #Chino ends up being there with us. 😄
For those who have followed me for a while, you've probably seen some of the small ways I've tried to help locally. The Salina Food Bank. Salina Shares. Picking up a meal. Buying someone's coffee. Trying to notice a need and do something good with it.
But tomorrow morning is about something bigger.
It's about legacy. 😌
It's about signing the paperwork and starting something I hope will still be doing good work long after I'm gone.
Tomorrow, I'll write the first check for $2,000 and take the first real step toward building something with purpose, heart, and a future.
Something built to #HelpMore.
I'll be honest, I'm nervous.
I don't have it all figured out, but I also don't have to figure it all out alone.
The good people at the Greater Salina Community Foundation will help guide me through the process and help me navigate the steps ahead.
They're trusted. They're known. And they've already established a strong history of doing good work with so many other foundations and organizations across Kansas.
That gives me peace.
I just know I want my life to keep helping people, even when my time here is done.
Tomorrow morning is about signing the paperwork.
It's about having my family there.
It's about starting something that can outlive me.
And it's about beginning something I truly hope will carry kindness forward for many years to come.
